Condo of the Day: 1 Main Street
1 Main Street is certainly one of the best addresses in Dumbo–no one’s going to ruin your view here–and 1,400 square feet is nothing to sniff at. 1 Main Street is certainly one of the best addresses in Dumbo–no one’s going to ruin your view here–and 1,400 square feet is nothing to sniff at. The interiors of this 1-bedroom loft are well-appointed as well. From the photos, however, this place just doesn’t look that big. Let us rephrase: As big as we’d want it to look for the price tag of $1.249 million. Given the height of the first floor (which houses the cavernous Bubby’s), this second-floor location actually clears tree level and probably has decent views. Do people think this will fetch the asking price? What have other places in the building sold for recently?
1 Main Street #2K [Loft Industrie] GMAP
Hello, I am interested in planning a wedding at Bubbys but am reluctant to put the deposit down until I have some idea of when the scaffolding at 1 Main Street is scheduled to come down. Even a general idea would help– like 2 months? 2 years? If anyone can answer that or point me to the right person to ask, I would really appreciate it!
As a resident of One Main (with no plans to sell), I wanted to correct the impressions left by West. There had been some maintenance issues in the building, but those have been resolved. The assessments are over (or almost — nothing a new buyer would have to worry about), the work (facade repair, not windows) is almost completed, and the scaffolding is coming down soon. As far as the prices, though, who knows? And, yes, the lobby is here to stay,
I’m not sure where or for how long this place has actually been listed, but I know it’s been on the market for a while because I looked at it at least 4 months ago. One Main is a great building but definitely quirky. People either love or hate the lobby (it’s all faux painted to look very old-world grand), and what was said in the post about size is oddly true — this place may well be 1400sf, but it certainly did not feel that big. It may be because it’s got one of those windowless “home office” rooms just off the entrance that adds space, but doesn’t help make the place feel spacious. They may have been able to get this price a year ago but methinks not today.
Aprtment 12F which has 1293 sq ft was sold in May 06 for $999k. Good luck on getting even close to the asking price on this unit.
Be careful everyone. My friends were going to buy into this building but apparently they have some serious maintenance issues coming up. Something to do with replacing windows I think.
