This one bedroom co-op at 451 Clinton Avenue in Clinton Hill is long and skinny; it also has a tiny kitchen. It’s not all bad though: the overall size of the apartment is actually okay (650 square feet) and there are some nice prewar details, especially in the foyer. The asking price is $395,000 and, given the location, you have to ask yourself how this place stacks up against the Clinton Hill Co-ops which are just a block away.

It does seem it would be cheaper to own this than rent it. The Clinton Hill Co-ops are a good bang for your buck but they certainly have a different vibe from a prewar building like this. I think this is pretty nice, and the backyard looks good, even if shared. On the other hand, that is quite a small kitchen. I also want to be able to have a washer and dryer in an apartment I own, but I know many coops don’t allow that.
