The good thing about ground-floor apartments is that the ceiling heights tend to be higher than the floors above; the bad thing is, well, that they are ground floor apartments and therefore tend to have less light and privacy. Today’s co-op of the day is unusual, even for a ground-floor apartment. The former loading dock for the ExLax factory that used to be at 423 Atlantic Avenue, the three-bedroom, multi-level pad has super-high ceilings, a large open living area and an industrial vibe. We’re not really feeling the color scheme, but other than that the space seems pretty cool to us. The price for the 2,060-square-foot place? $1,425,000, which compares favorably on a per-square-foot basis to a fifth-floor unit that’s also on the market right now.
