Today marks the last day of Gabby’s tenure as a full-time Brownstoner scribe. She’s off to pursue the glory of a freelance writing career, a path which will hopefully include the occasional contribution to Brownstoner. The site has grown a lot in the past year since Gabby came on board and we’d like to thank her for all her tireless effort; working full-time on a blog can be exhilarating, but it’s also relentless. Gabby’s coverage of real estate and retail development in Park Slope and Gowanus, in particular, have been second to none and her reliability at staying on top of the news has given us a chance to step back a little from the day-to-day grind to focus on the larger direction of the site and related new projects like The Flea. Good luck and don’t forget to visit!
We’re excited to announce that on Monday, Lisa Selin Davis will begin as the full-time managing editor and writer for Brownstoner. Lisa has been a writer for the past decade and a half, covering architecture, real estate and travel for the likes of the New York Times, Metropolis, Interior Design and This Old House. She’s also found time to write a very well-reviewed novel. Lisa’s lived in Park Slope since the mid-90’s and has spent the past few months putting out Marty’s newspaper for him, so she knows from Brooklyn. In addition to crawling under plywood fences to sniff out the latest development and welcoming your tips with open arms, Lisa will also be focusing some attention on beefing up the interiors- and design-related content on the site. Starting Monday, you’ll be able to reach her at Lisa AT brownstoner DOT com.
I’ll miss you Gabby! Please put in a good word for me with Lisa! 🙂
Good luck Gabby!Nothing you do from now on can be as difficult as trying to please the Brownstoner readership.
Lisa, looking forward to your input. You have an impressive body of work. A welcome from me, too.
Good luck Gaby, and welcome Lisa.
I followed the “novel” link in Mr. B’s intro, which led me to this really interesting interview with Lisa about her novel, and about herself, which I encourage everyone to read because it reveals Lisa to be a really cool and interesting person:
