Midwood Park Edwardian With Wrap-Around Porch, Garage Asks $1.82 Million
Here’s a tree-shaded Edwardian with a pile of space and some original details in the Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District.

Here’s a tree-shaded Edwardian with a pile of space, a wraparound porch and some original details in the Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District. It’s in the Midwood Park end of the district, on a huge (87′ by 116′, according to the listing) corner lot at 654 East 17th Street.
The photos are haphazard — a lot of dark images and cluttered spaces and much that’s not shown. And the exterior shots reveal peeling paint and other indicators that upkeep may not have been painstaking.
The listing references a need for “some updating and personal touches,” so there’s some work to be done inside as well as out.
But there are some nice interior details, including a brick fireplace, coffered ceilings, and original woodwork, including a mahogany-paneled center staircase.

And there’s plenty of space. The listing puts it both at eight bedrooms and at “6+” — without a floor plan we can’t break that down for you. But either way, that’s plenty of bedrooms, along with three full baths and two half baths.
The listing references a “side entrance and separate address,” and the potential for a “professional space.” A floor plan would be useful here.
There’s a driveway and a two-car garage. The house is pretty well set up in the public transportation division as well, with the B and Q trains at Newkirk around the corner.
Listed by Joe DeVito of Fillmore, the circa 1910 house is asking $1.82 million. Sound high for a place that needs work, or is it in the ballpark? Like what you see?
