This four-story Park Slope limestone’s got a steep monthly price tag, but if you need a lot of space and can swing the rent it’s quite an eye catcher.

This four-story Park Slope limestone’s got a steep monthly price tag, but if you need a lot of space and can swing the rent it’s quite an eye catcher. And it’s right by Prospect Park, at 594 2nd Street, between 8th Avenue and Prospect Park West.
There’s plenty of grand spaces and original elegance within, from the gorgeous coffered wooden ceiling and built-in cabinetry in the dining room to the stained glass, carved woodwork and quartet of fireplace mantels.
There are five bedrooms and 3.5 baths, as well as “abundant closet space.” The kitchen shot doesn’t reveal much, but it’s alleged to be “spacious,” and there’s a Viking stove.

There’s a master bath with a Jacuzzi tub and a sauna, and zoned a/c and heat. There’s also a pair of terraces (one stocked with a hammock) and a nice bricked-in garden. The listing references “roof access,” without suggesting there’s a roof deck up there.
Listed by Corcoran broker Sergey Platin, the house, built in 1903, is asking $14,900 a month. Which could be called a steep figure even for a house of this caliber, though compared to last week’s Rental of the Day it’s a pittance. Think someone will pay it?
