Close to the Beach, This Sea Gate Three-Bedroom With Vintage Flair Wants $1,995 a Month
The place isn’t palatial, but it’s tidy and you can hear the ocean from it.

Here’s a three-bedroom for $1,995 a month from which you can hear the ocean. It’s in Sea Gate, the gated community at the western end of the Coney Island peninsula, on the ground floor of a detached early 20th century brick house at 3782 Surf Avenue.
The place isn’t palatial, but it’s tidy and brimming with vintage charm. There’s a living room with a stained glass window in the front; beyond that is a dining room and a kitchen large enough to fit a small breakfast table; the three bedrooms are in the rear.
The bedrooms aren’t huge, but they’re adequate, and each has a closet. There’s also a linen closet in the hallway.
There are parquet floors throughout and it looks newly painted. The vaguely Deco-ish bathroom is tiled in green and has a separate shower and tub. There’s also another stained glass window in here, a holdover from the bathroom’s Edwardian past.

You’ve got the run of the backyard, though we couldn’t tell you what it looks like, and there’s a front patio. And, of course, the beach is nearby, though the same couldn’t be said for the subway, which quite a hike, though there are buses that go there from the neighborhood gate.
Listed by Kurt Vikki, the place wants $1,995 a month. A low figure for a three-bedroom to be sure, though of course it’s not what you might call centrally located. But then there’s that ocean… what do you think?
