  1. We got back from the BH HT a couple of hours ago–we didn’t see Heath & Michelle, but throughly enjoyed ourselves. As far as I’m concerned, the highlight was the house over the antique shop on Atlantic Ave. with all the gothic-revival furniture, although, even though I’m a lover of Victoriana, it was too museum-like for me to picture myself living there. After that, my favorite was the extremely personal and idiosyncratic Warren St. house The stops I liked least were the apartment in the Ex-Lax Bldg. and the gut renovation on Wyckoff Street, although theyb were both VERY well done and, I’m sure were the favorites of many people. Actually, after cleaning the woodwork in my own house in preparation for our tour last week, I certainly COULD see myself living in a modern renovation like the Wyckoff St. house 🙂

One of the I always like about the BH tour is that the houses are 50 years older than those in my own nabe and SO different in style.

    A great tour IMO.

  2. The annual Victorian Flatbush House Tour will take place as well this Sunday, June 11th. This year’s tour features about 11 of the beautiful
Victorian homes from the Victorian Flatbush neighborhoods, including
Ditmas Park, Prospect Park South, and South Midwood (just to name a
    few).

The tour provides an opportunity for tour participants to view the
insides of some of our stately homes and for us, as residents, to
showcase our neighborhoods. The event also serves as a fundraising
activity for Flatbush Development Corporation (FDC).

The tour begins at 1pm at the Flatbush-Thompkins Church at 424 E.
19th Street (at the corner of Dorecester and E. 19th St.). Admission
for the tour is $16 in advance or $20 if purchased the day of the
tour. You can contact Mithout Gomez at FDC at (718) 859-3800 for
    tickets or additional information.
