A lottery has opened for eight affordable apartments in a new building at 845 Grand Street in East Williamsburg.
Monthly rent is set at $1,020 a month for a one-bedroom apartment, and $1,224 for a two-bedroom apartment. Households of one to two people qualify for the one-bedrooms if they make between $34,972 and $43,500 a year. For the two-bedroom apartments, qualifying households of two to four people must make between $41,966 and $54,360.

Apartments at 845 Grand will have black granite counters with subway tile backsplashes, wide-plank hardwood floors, and oversized noise-insulating windows, according to the write-ups for the market-rate units.
Building amenities include a roof terrace with hammocks, backyard, lounge with pool tables, exercise and yoga room, bike storage and laundry room. Common areas such as the gym feature distressed wood as a design element.

Tecnico Engineering is the applicant of record, and Raizy Hirsch is listed as the owner on building department records.
The lottery opened March 15 and runs through this Wednesday, April 5. For more information on the lottery and to apply, visit NYC Housing Connect. For tips on how to apply, read our Brownstoner guide.
