We’ve always been curious about the 19th century (or early 20th century) brick row houses we see in Long Island City, and here is one for sale. Looks like an unfortunate case of over renovation, however — the interior looks like a new condo in the photos. A floor plan would be helpful, since the photos show they’ve reconfigured the space. It’s currently set up as a top floor rental over an owner’s duplex. We’re sure houses like this don’t come on the market often, but still, do you think the ask of $2,250,000 is realistic?
45-18 11th Street [Modern Spaces] GMAP P*Shark
It was built in 1903-04 and it is directly across the street from Murray Park (the map is wrong).
I’d like to know what it looked like before being renovated. I don’t mind the modern renovation, but I agree that it would be too bad if there was some nice original detail that got sacrificed in the process.
Notice how close up the picture of the front of the house is. It’s on REALLY busy 11th St. aross the street from a warehouse, next to another (smaller) warehouse which is on a corer and across from another warehouse! That picture that looks into the backyard looks like another warehouse as well! Yes, too much $.
