This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath co-op in Forest Hills was built in 1931, according to the listing. But the layout, fireplace, and decorative moldings harken back to the 1920s. The kitchen has been updated, and there are no photos of the bathrooms. The listing says it’s 1,650 square feet. The ask is $650,000. Think it’s a good deal?

    • I have to say, I’ve personally seen this pre-war classic six. With its large rooms, comfortable flow and woodburning fireplace, it feels like a private home. Maintenance is $1,995, and there are currently no assessments. The building only has 50 shareholders, so it makes sense that the maintenance runs a little higher than some buildings. Apartments this size don’t come on the market often; and the three full, windowed baths is a rare find. If you are looking for a well-maintained, financially sound, boutique pre-war building in Forest Hills, Lexington House is not to be overlooked. Zoned for P.S. 196.
