Welcome to the Q’Stoner food feature, Signature Dish! Once a week we check in with Queens restaurants and ask the owners about the all-time favorite dishes they serve. If you know of a dish you’d like to see featured here, please email emily@brownstoner.com.

The Spot: Bareburger, 17 locations throughout the tri-state region, the first opened at 33-21 31st Avenue, Astoria.

The Deal: Most New York residents are familiar with Bareburger’s menu of organic burgers. The restaurant in Astoria that started it all has slowly been expanding its offerings. The five-year-old restaurant recently remodeled and added a full-service bar that stays true to the organic and sustainable ethos of the chain. For example, brunch will have organic Mimosas and all-natural Bloody Marys. The new cocktail menu will feature the best burger to pair with the drink. The cocktail menu is currently available at seven Bareburger locations (including Forest Hills and Astoria) and will soon expand to them all.

A new partnership with Coolhaus ice cream sandwiches will expand Bareburger’s dessert offerings, and new lighter salads will be featured alongside the restaurant’s traditional burgers, sides, and shakes.

The Dish: With so many meat options in the burgers, the folks at Bareburger recommend the sliders meal. Each order of sliders comes with three 2-ounce patties.

“It showcases the choices we offer for every palate.,” says Euripides Pelekanos, the CEO and founder of Bareburger. “You can order elk, bison, quinoa veggie burger, lamb, wild boar, beef or turkey. It comes with our dill pickle chips and our BBQ special sauce.”

Any of the burgers on the menu can be made with any of the available free-range, organic meats, but by choosing the sliders, guests are able to sample the non-traditional flavors. Perhaps on the next visit, the elk burger will become a top contender.
