Every year, the Museum of the Moving Image displays a wide array of groundbreaking, often audacious films from around the world. The First Look: Annual Showcase of New International Work opens tomorrow, January 4, with the provocative French flick Outside Satan (Hors Satan), followed by an opening reception sponsored by Beyond Kombucha. Twenty-six features and shorts will screen during First Look, including motion pictures from Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea and Thailand. Most will be New York premieres. The series closes on Sunday, January 13, with shorts by acclaimed Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho.
