Closing Bell: Sculpture Center to Host Block Party on Saturday

This Saturday SculptureCenter along with the Purves Street Block Association will host the second annual LIC Block Party. The event, according to SculptureCenter, “features artist-led activities, live music and performances, an artists market showcasing affordable and functional art and objects, and family-friendly food options from local restaurants including the Burger Garage, LIC Market, Manducatis Rustica, Sage General Store, and Soho Snacks.” Activities will include doughnut making, carnival games, face painting, coffee ground reading, balloon twisting and many collaborative art projects for visitors of any age as well as the opportunity to buy art directly from artists. The event takes place Saturday, August 3, from 12 PM to 5 PM on Purves Street at Jackson Avenue and 43rd Avenue.
