Rental of the Day: 544 Hancock Street, #2

This three-room Stuy Heights one-bedroom isn’t particularly large or fancy, but decorative mantels, diagonal hardwood floors, shutters and other original details abound. There’s a black-and-white tile bathroom with a claw foot tub and some unusual built-in drawers under the windows in the living room. The kitchen looks sub par to us. The landlord pays for utilities, including satellite tv, and the location is pretty good, close to shops, but even so we think the rent is too high. What do you think of it for $1,700 month?
