Getting to Know West Brighton

We didn’t even realize there was a neighborhood called West Brighton until we checked in with the latest installment of Forgotten NY. In the shadows of neighboring hoods of Brighton Beach, Gravesend and Coney Island and dominated by two large housing projects, West Brighton doesn’t get a whole lot of love from the rest of the city. Never one to be swayed by popular opinion, Forgottten NY takes a jaunt down the main strip, Shell Road, taking pleasure in the history behind street names and some old historic details that are there if you just take the time to look.
