The rapid pace of development at Avalon Myrtle (sorry, we have a hard time calling it Avalon Fort Greene as the developers would like—if this isn’t Downtown Brooklyn, what is?) continues. According to our count, the building (which will have 650 rental units) has reached 32 out of an eventual 42 stories, double where it was just two months ago. That’s two stories per week!

  1. are these related to the avalons in manhattan on the LES!? those buildings are seriously post college dorms for ex fratboys and sorority chicks. why you would want a gigantic building full of those types in brooklyn is mind boggling.

  2. John Catsimatidis building is also moving up fast. It is up to the 5th of 8 floors. Pretty simple structure – all concrete block – but it looks like it should be done by summer. Here comes that neighborhood supermarket (finally)!
