Yes, snow all season is good; it’s freeze and thaw that’s not so good, especially for roses which are so temperamental. Well, the cultivated ones are anyway. Not their fault.

A heavy layer of snow is good for plants; that’s why gardeners call it “poor man’s manure.”
Yawn? This is no YAWN for me either. I WISH I could yawn. I was shovelling at midnight and again crack of dawn.

Um this is not “yawn” for me…. it is a big problem as I need to drive everywhere….
I am afraid that if I leave my expensively dug-put spot, I shall never park again….
Now that New York City has turned into the Arctic Circle, I wonder if the roses will survive?
