Olga’s, coming soon to 407 Smith Street, will have edamame coleslaw and spaghetti squash with spicy tomato sauce, among other goodies. Looked close to opening when we went by, and someday the business will have a new influx of customers thanks to its proximity to Public Place. (Gowanus Lounge got this one, too). Let us know when the doors open, will ya? GMAP

  1. Hard to imagine how any place that serves food and theoretically needs foot traffic to survive can do so in the short term here. Maybe a robust delivery business with low rents, but I am not sure. Good luck.

  2. As long as we’ve been on this block (since 2002 – OrangeYouGlad on the corner of 5th & Smith) all of these locations have been unused storefronts/apartments.

  3. bowl of dicks, I think it was Me and My Egg Roll (Chinese Restaurant) before. (Me and My Egg Roll and bowl of dicks in the same sentence…wow).

  4. That block is definitely changing. There’s Olga’s opening soon, a day care center opening soon, and a tattoo parlor that recently opened. By the way, that 1-story garage, 6,700 SF space, is also available for lease by CPEX Real Estate. Seems like a good space for a club or gym.
