False alarm! Riding down Furman Street this morning at around 8:30 a.m. we were alarmed to look up at the Waterfalls installation and see, gasp, no water falling. A quick query to the Public Art Fund set us straight: Turns out that the Waterfalls don’t start until 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  1. GHB, I’ll admit that the same thing happened with me and The Gates. I didn’t appreciate them at first but grew to love walking under and around them during their short time in Central Park. I’m glad I took some personal snaps of them at the time.

My initial impression of the falls was about the same, if not worse, but I’ll probably also remember them fondly.

  2. It’s all good, bayridgegirl.

Regarding the topic, I passed by the falls today at 8am and they were on – so I’m not sure what the deal is with the starting time. Perhaps the fluctuating starting time is a metaphor for our always changing, unpredictable city.

  3. Sorry, Biff…I read it in haste.
It would be kind of cool if there was a post on all the great quotes that people say. There are some great lines.

    You have a great weekend.

  4. bayridgegirl, I’ve got lots of love for you! That was 11233 at on the Mansion thread who said “lol, brownstoner – I mean bayridgegirl” (at 1:24PM to be precise – check it out).

I’m sorry, I didn’t at all mean to imply I think you’re Mr. B if that’s what you thought! Mucho apologiso! I simply meant I was more excited getting props from you than if I was Mr. B’s official quote of the day.

It’s Friday, let’s all have a great day and weekend!

  5. Was in a car coming down the FDR on Wednesday headed over to Union Hall (see other post). I must say that seeing the waterfalls I was not impressed. I expected them to be much larger in size. But, size isn’t everything.

  6. Biff,
    Not sure what this means.

‘from you than from Mr. B himself’

You also, said on yesterday’s Mansion Escapade.

‘lol, brownstoner – I mean bayridgegirl’

Are you alluding to something here…if you are come right out and say it.

And you will be so wrong.
    Till tomorrow.

  7. Thanks bayridgegirl, I always liked you and it’s even more of an honor to receive the QOTD from you than from Mr. B himself! I just wish I had prepared a speech! And I’m way underdressed for the red carpet. Oh, bother.
