What we are reading this week about decorating and renovating old houses:

Freunde von Freunden profiles artist and textile designer Isabel Wilson, who lives and works in an old Williamsburg loft building with exposed brick walls painted white.

Here’s a house in Brussels that looks a lot like a Brooklyn brownstone. Most of it is white with pops of color, but the living room veers into something smokier. We like this old cabinet juxtaposed against white tile in the bathroom.

Todd Selby photographs jewelry maker and artist Philip Crangi at home and at work. Crangi has juxtaposed unusual shades of color, such as icy plum and citron, and materials that inspire his work or reflect it, in a small Manhattan apartment with a fireplace and lots of windows.
