Forgotten NY recently took a look at the trolley-tracks that are still lie partially exposed in a few of the city’s streets. In Brooklyn, the 25 train ran down what is now Fulton Street until 1941. To expand on our mash-up of trolley photos, check out the full story on the FNY website.

  1. I heard that Myrtle Ave used to have an el(elevated) train line up until around the 1950’s. For you old time CH/FG people who may remember life before Metrocards, I was told that is why the bus that runs down Myrtle used to have a free subway pass to the Jay Street Station.

  2. I live on Grand between Lexington and Gates. Over ten years ago, my neighbor, who is now, alas, no longer able to communicate, told me that the trolley used to run on Lexington. And my stepmother told me that she took the trolley from Brooklyn Heights to her dentist on Myrtle Ave. when she was a child in the 30s.
