The Wyckoff House in Flatlands gets plenty of attention for its historic significance (it was, after all, the first property to be designated by the LPC when it was created back in ’65) but we suspect many of our readers have never made it there in person. If that’s the case, you’ll want to check out the photo essay that recently went up on the Bridge and Tunnel Club’s website that provides not only great shots of the house itself but also of its surroundings.

  1. Anon 1:35- I agree that the wasteland thing was a bit harsh, but it would be nice if the NEIGHBORHOOD respected the history of the house. It doesn’t have to be HOTD for passersby or area residents to refrain from littering on the sidewalk abutting this historical building.

  2. I don’t live too far from the Wyckoff house. I visited it a while back. It’s a great trip to take, especially if you have little children. Too bad the ambience of the place is ruined by the Chinese take-out, check cashing and graffiti-ridden repair stores nearby.
