We’ve driven past the 17th Corps Artillery Armory (formerly known as the Union Grounds) several times but never knew anything about it. NYC-Architecture.com, which has a great cache of Brooklyn buildings, has some nice shots and an explanation from the AIA about the building’s history: Turns out that in the 1860s, this was the site of many baseball games between the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the Philadelphia Athletics, the New York Mutuals, and the Brooklyn Eckfords.
