window pricing/recs wanted

hey all, I just got an estimate for Marvin Integrity replacement windows at about $1200 per window, installed. Does this seem crazily high? And are there any other recommended brands that won’t cost this much? Any recs for reliable and good quality window companies in Brooklyn are welcome.

Try Armaclad triple pane fiberglass (PA company), – we really like their windows and much more efficient than Marvin or Andersen.  Got them through Window-Fix, who was only okay on installation but did find the company.  Also just found a LI company offering German quality energy efficient windows that are made in Poland: http://www.libertywindoors.com/liberty-windoors-about-us/   Don’t know about their prices but am planning on checking them out.  Canadian windows are harder to come by but also more efficient and well made.  My theory is that if I’m going to spend anything like that on a window, it better be really really good, ie – offer the energy efficiency of a wall, like windows in Europe do.

Paid that for clad-wood back window 80×36\. Worth getting a good brand. Aluminum ones may be cheaper but are horrible.
