What's going on with this exterior WINDOW???
I’m looking at a property, and it looks like an old tenant took a crowbar to the “side jambs” of several of the vinyl windows. I tried bending them back into place, but they just sprung back out again. Can I just take some wood screws and anchor them down to the wooden frame? Or do I need to replace the whole window? Or can I just leave it as is. It is actually “capping” a piece of aluminium to cover the wood frame, to supposedly avoid the need to scrape & paint the wood frame every few years.
From the pictures it looks like someone tried to replace just the sashes without changing the capping at the same time, forcing them all out of place. A reely cheap job.
It needs all new better quality windows.
