Various window- and door-related jobs

I am looking for recommendations for someone who can: — repair and weatherproof, or replace, drafty, ill-fitting windows in a PS brownstone — make and install iron gates (with screens and glass) to serve as storm doors in front of our large, original wood windows. — repair and rehang a large, wooden front door that no longer closes snugly. Andrew of Ferris Construction did several window jobs for me as part of larger renovations. I have recommended them on this site before.  They’re a small Brooklyn based company who do very commendable work at reasonable prices.  In one case they restored the existing 100 year old windows, and in another they installed Marvin windows which are super.  I found them to pay a lot of attention to detail. Responsible and talented crew which was recommended initially to me by Dykes Lumber in Manhattan.  718-765-1715.

Gerrard at Brooklyn Artisan fixed and weatherproofed my original windows. He and his crew did a really impressive job. They repainted the original mahogany windows, took out all the damaged parts and restored the moldings. They also used foam and silicon to seal the windows from drafts. Those guys also do home inspections and were able to seek out where a lot of the drafts were penetrating. You can check them out at info@brooklynartisan.com
