Skylights Won't Sync With Remotes

We have Velux skylights that can only be opened/closed and their shades raised/lowered by remote control. The remotes and skylights stopped “talking” to each other (a few years ago). We haven’t been able to figure out how to re-set, and the one electrician who took a look couldn’t figure out how to do it. Anyone else have this problem, and what did you do? Or can you recommend a skylight whiz?
