Paint for Exterior Windows
I’m planning on painting our 4×4 divided lite wooden windows.
We’re aiming for a black — that’s not too shiny. Low lustre or satin? (Not too sure what the difference is since I haven’t seen them.) I’d go matte but I’ve heard it gets dirty and can’t be cleaned. Does anyone have any recommendations on the type of paint we should use? The window installation company recommended oil based but after reading up on it it appears that an acrylic might be better. Has anyone used Aura Exterior Paint? Would love to hear some feedback.

I have had very good experience with Benjamin Moore oil-based paint. Eggshell finish looks matte but cleans like satin.

Oil is best but perfectly acceptable from a wearability is an oil primer (always oil primer on the exterior) and a high quality 100% acrylic paint. I agee with you that the matte is harder to clean.
