Exterior window painting

We’re talking to Historical Windows about installing new Marvins in the front of our brownstone. Their quote for painting the windows seems high. What should I expect to pay to paint the exteriors? And does anyone have recommendations for painters? Given the investment, I want great work, but not sure what a reasonable cost should be. Any leads or insights appreciated!

Though I don’t have clear info regarding the cost of painting an exterior window but on Googling I come up with the result that it may range from an averages cost of $1.58 – $3.02 per linear foot. The calculation is based on average material costs, unit labor productivity rates and national average hourly labour wages.

The labor to paint windows is high because ladders (and even scaffolding) are required, plus it involves greater skill than painting a wall. Sorry I don’t have a referral. But since you will find yourself paying handsomely for this project, consider investing in a high quality paint, like Fine Paints of Europe. This is an oil-based paint made in The Netherlands that will stand up to the elements far better than standard paints. You can buy it at Janovic Plaza in Long Island City. We’ve used it very successfully for exterior woodwork, railings and ironwork.
