Buying replacement window screens

I am looking to replace a couple of window screens. The windows are a very standard size, and those brown metal-framed windows one sees in a lot of rental apartments. So I’m imagining it’s not too tough to get screen replacements. Where can I get replacements?

Window screens are easy to change. Screens are available in hardware nearby towns, cities. It is not a major problem.

OP here. I ended up using Tempest Windows, 1133 McDonald Ave., 718-258-6400\. They were very quick and helpful – it was all done and installed within 24 hours of my calling them. They were recommended by Brooklyn Windows & Doors, which doesn’t make screens.

Mega Glass on 5th Ave @ Bergen recently repaired two window screens for me. I believe they can also supply new screens. They are a little grumpy but know what they’re doing! (718) 638-7511.

If you still have the original screen frames, it’s possible to have new screens installed. There are also DIY kits available and it’s not that hard to use them (although, to be honest, my one attempt, an a large screen door, sags a bit).
