Basement Window Dryer Vent
My dryer vents through a glass pane in basement window. It is falling apart. The house is a 1910 Victorian with what looks like stone walls in the basement. There does not appear to be enough room for a vent above the window, but there may be if the ceiling is opened up. There is vinyl siding on the outside. The pane could be replaced with wood, but would prefer to go through the stone. What should I do?

How about Plexiglass? That ‘s what I did and it works fine. I measured the size of plexiglass I needed and then brought the dimensions along with a section of the dryer vent to a plexiglass store on Fort Hamilton Avenue between 20 and 30th Street. It took 5 minutes to cut the plexiglass. I then went home and attached the plexiglass to the wooden frame with screws, and fitted the vent through the hole. It was a very satisfying DIY experience.
