Natl Grid destroying sidwealks

Is anyone else seeing National grid destroy their sidewalks/streets? I’ve seen them on a few streets in Bed Stuy, apparently they’re installing new updated high pressure gas lines. They go block by block and dig up a rectangular hole in front of each house. I’ve attached a pic that shows some of the work. Has anyone else on this forum experienced this? My neighbor has a theory that this is a plot to blow up all the brownstones in order to build condos…

They have been digging up streets and sidewalks on our side of BedStuy for the past couple of years. They dug up the block next to ours right after the street was resurfaced (because of course they did), and how it has a large ditch forming in the middle, starting to look like the ditch on Hancock/Marcy.

i have seen these and the work being done. they could do a better job patching the holes but i am all for upgrading the infrastructure. as for your neighbor and his/her theories….i hear they are having a sale on tin foil at costco.
