Beso - Restaurant in Bed Stuy

A day of physically exhausting home renovation tasks left me too tired to cook, but pretty darned hungry, so I finally headed over to BESO on Lewis Avenue for dinner. My partner and I ordered the empanandas, salad, coconut shrimp, and steak. Everything was fresh and DELICIOUS! Likely the best chimichurri we’ve ever had…..and the coconuttiest coconut rice! Do give them a try – you won’t be disappointed.

we’ve eaten there, as well. The food was not bad, but I agree with cmpxchg – it took an awfully long time to arrive. Since the food wasn’t bad, we are going to go back sometime soon to see if the cook’s sped up. 🙂

To my knowledge, the restaurant is owned by a local couple…unrelated to anyplace in Manhattan. Our food was served promptly and the waitstaff was terrific. Can’t wait to see their outdoor space this summer…..

Is this place related to the restaurant of the same name that used to be on 5th avenue and Union in Park Slope? They had excellent mojitos, good food and slow service.

I’ve been there once, and the food was really good though It took an awfully long time for the food to arrive  =/
