I want to provide the highest reccomendation for Steve Cymbalsky. His company is Brownstone Home Inspection LLC. I’ve used Steve on two seperate occasions to help me assess the condition of a townhouse i was looking to purchase. Steve is beyond thorough and will take you through the house in full detail to make sure you are fully aware of the current conditions, potential problem areas and items to lookout for in the future. Its as much an education as it is a home inspection. As others have mentioned, he will not be rushed or influenced by a listing agent, ensuring you have the full benefit of his complete assessment of the property. Whether you need an inspection for a potential purchase or you want a full conditions report and maintenance plan for your current home, i can’t reccomend Steve enough.

Seconding this reco of Steve Cynmalsky.

I met Steve at a Brownstoner IRL event at Neir’s Tavern a couple years ago (would be great to have another gathering like that!), plus I’ve been learning a lot from his generous posts on this forum.

Recently he’s been consulting on a project for my house that must be done correctly. It’s an old house and I’m new to all this so I definitely appreciate not only his knowledge, but also his patience. Working with him will ensure that both the house and I are in better shape at the end of the project than when we began.
