Waht type of duct tape do I need for my Gas Dryer?

I just had a friend visit my house, and when he saw my LG Gas dryer (model: DLGX2802L), he said to me “you have used the wrong duct tape to re-enforce each 4″ transition, and need to replace it as soon as possible”. So I turn to you, the experts on this forum.   The duct tape I used is “Scotch 1-29/32 in. x 75 ft. No Residue Painter’s Duct Tape is a maximum strength, all-weather duct tape that features no-residue removal for up to 6 months from most opaque surfaces.” He said that I should get the “foil-surface” duct tape, which will be much better for what I am using.  He said that it can withstand much higher heat, compared to the one I am using. Is he right?  Is this such a big deal?  The reason is that my dryer is so hard to get to (especailly the back of it), and am wondering if it’s worth the hardship. All advice is appreciated.

Duct tape is great stuff–useful for hundreds of random tasks.  Unfortunately, as levicapland and tsarina said, duct work is not one of them.

Yes you need foil tape. Cost about $7\. Very easy to use. Attached is a picture so you don’t get confused.  Levi Capland

yes the this foil tape is the right one to use because the vent can get very hot and and the other stuff can melt
