Be aware that you will need at least 6 months lead time to get new gas service from Con Ed…the conversion itself is not difficult, but dealing with Con Ed is arduous

Yes, I am aware that this is a big job and that anything in nyc is difficult to get done quickly. However my boiler is at least 50 years old so its something that I will need to do and I would like to be prepared rather than wait till my boiler cracks. Would you be able to give me an estimate? There is also additional plumbing work I likely need to have done. Thanks.

I do lots of them. Dealing with Con Ed in Manhattan for conversions is difficult, so expect the job to take some time if you need a new, larger meter.
