Leak near dryer vent pipe
We moved into the top floor of a brownstone and we have a leak coming out of an A/C and forced hot air vent. Water leaks sometimes when it doesn’t rain and when it does rain. I cut holes in the ceilng tto try to figure out where the leak was coming from and there are two dryer vent pipes that vent out to the roof near the leak that I suspect are involved. Could the leak be from condensation from the dryer vent when the dryer is in use and if so why Is it leaking in the same place when it rains? Any theories would be appreciated.

Most likely it’s your A/C drain that is leaking. Either the drip pan is overflowing or condensation from the A/C drain line. Your leak has nothing to do with the rain.
