Karl's Plumbing

I would like to issue a warning about Karl’s Plumbing. We hired them to test our condo’s 2 backflow prevention devices. They ran the test and told us the devices failed, and needed to be replaced for a cost of $1200\. They charged $550 for the “test”, and refused to show us any documentation, test results or even give an explanation of the problem beyond “they don’t work”. The devices are both under 2 years old and were certified when installed, so we got a second opinion. Needless to say, the devices are both operating perfectly, the second plumber was happy to have us watch the test and explained the results along the way. I would not recommend Karl’s Plumbing under any circumstances.

Plumber cannot test backflow devices. you need NYS certified backflow preventer tester.
