Cost & recommendation for plumbing job?

We have a sewer gas leak under a kitchen sink in our third-floor rental. I don’t know exactly the source of the leak, but I think it’s fair to assume we should replace the old lead waste and vent pipe with new cast iron. Could anyone give me an estimate for how much they think this will cost, and a recommendation for a licensed plumber?  The specifics: The lead waste pipe and vent run along a wall for about seven feet. Under the sink, the waste pipe attaches to a new brass pipe. At the other end, the waste and vent pipes disappear into an air shaft where they hook up with a new cast iron waste pipe and an old cast iron vent pipe that feeds into the main stack. Everything is out in the open and accessible, including the air shaft. I left a message with John Hlad, but doubt I will hear back.

It’s not a blockage, it’s not a trap issue. We have a P trap. This particular sewer gas problem (we have more than oiur fair share) started about two months ago. Everything else in the area is new. There are no actual sewage leaks, just a smell. Could be pin holes or a loose connection where the soft lead meets up with the cast iron. Smells like dirty diapers, and it’s under the sink, not coming up from the drain.

Most likely a blockage that can be eliminated.  Where exactly is the “leak?”  If it’s coming through the drain it’s more likely a trap issue.  If there’s no actual “P trap” there’s your problem.
