Repainting Steel Bars on Door

Soon going to refinish old original oak front  doors on our brownstone on the inside and out. 2 doors opne for the entrance and each has glass on it with the original steel bars that are pianted black. They are not in terrible shape, though will need to be repainted as I’m doing the doors. Instead of sanding the bars and pinting over some of the layers of paint, is it possible to bring the bars top to have them pretreated to easily remove the old layers and then have them sprayed? Thought this might me a good alternative if ono too expensive to save the time and get them repainted for the long haul… Any suggestions for somewhere I can have this done? Thanks

I would recomend having them sand-blasted and powder-coated by ever nu. check the directory.

hey, we can do them and can be a little more flexible on the price if you can bring them to us.  I would recommend stripping them and treating them with rust reformer (even if they do not need it; I can show you a piece of steel that I treated with just rust refomer and then left outside for a winter) and then top coating with paint. We also do door restoration with particular focus on doors which are coming falling apart or need reveneering. Steve
