Any suggestions for low or no voc paint for interior?

Any suggestions for a nice quality low voc or no voc interior paint? I’m considering Green Depot’s homemade brand and would love feedback from people who have tried it. Other options we have are Lowe’s Valspar paint which our contractor likes but which is combination paint and primer for the lower voc make and our contractor is more used to using separate primer – or Home Depot behr or glidden brands. And I’m not sure whether to get a 5 gallon drum versus one gallon containers to save money. Green depot homemade brand is very reasonably priced but I’d love feedback first since we would have to go pick it up in manhattan. Thanks for any feedback.

This is one are in the ‘green’ spectrum I can disagree with. Unless you have chemical sensitivities, I don’t see why anyone pays the premium for low voc, since the benefits are minimal. If you have ventilation, paint smells dissipate in a day or 2\. Personally, I (like many people I know) *like* the smell of  a freshly painted room. Otoh, I would pay more for a ‘quality’ paint like BM or others, since there’s so much that goes into the composition of good paint that I believe low priced paints might not be as good. Then there’s ‘designer’ brands, priced to match. Middle of the price spectrum is what I’d do.

OP here -Interesting that no one is mentioning the Home Depot or lowes brands which I’d think have to be ok if not as good as. Ben Moore. But Ben Moore paints are 50/gallon not even low voc and these other brands are low or no voc and half or 2/3 the price. I’m leaning toward trying the various types in different rooms as a test and can report back on this string. I also prefer Ben Moore and might splurge on that for the trim or something. I’m just curious whether Benjamin Moore is really that much better quality or just a known entity. As for the Farrow and ball it sounds great but is also over budget. Thanks for all the responses!

Farrow & Ball is naturally low VOC. Pigmentation quality is top notch too. They sell retail at a couple of shops in Manhattan or you can buy online. They have sample pots for every color, and the sales people are extremely knowlegedable about what colors work with what — bring in photos and color swatches and they’ll set you up. The regular paint has a dusty look that’s good on old plaster, but they now have other finishes suitable for kitchens and baths too. Personally, I did not love Aura, found it too sticky, and the colors unnatural. I do like Benjamin Moore’s regular line, but it’s not low VOC. But it’s not bad.

I was very satisfied with Benjamin Moore Natura No-VOC Paint. their quality (ie.) color selection,brightness,lifespan of the paint it self.
