Moving/storage for temporary move-out

We will be renovating our two-bedroom apartment and will have to clear everything out for the renovation.  Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate of what it will cost to have movers pack the apartment, store everything for four months (we will live in a furnished temporary rental), and move it back in afterwards?  Of course we’ll have some companies come in to bid the job but for now I just want to get a sense of the cost for budgeting purposes.  Thanks.

We just did the same thing, we used Dumbo Moving. We had them pack about half our stuff, and we moved things between our duplex and our short term apartment, and put things from both into storage. It was a complicated three part move, and it went very smoothly. Email Lilor at dumbo moving at gmail dot com. Their price was very competitive, the service was great, the guys were patient and helpful.

Without the movers doing the actual packing, i’d speculate $2k ($1k each way) plus monthoy storage fees (go pick the appropriate unit).  That would be fore a fully legit company who does it by the book with full insurance deliving your board a timely certificate.     With the mover doing packing, too hard to say.  They might have to come visit – many people significnatly underestimate their sh*t.
