I was also a victim of Kennedy Renovation’s scam. As mentioned above, Kennedy Renovation disconnected his landline and cell phone. It appears he’s in the process of changing his name / website to Metro NYC Windows / www.metronycwindows. Beware of anyone operating out of 146 Spencer St Ste 5002 (which is an artist in residence building, not a commercial building).

This is a warning to anyone looking to use Kennedy Renovation Company! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We have been scammed by Jeff Kennedy and he has taken our 50% deposit without installing our windows for our brownstone. He was responsive in the beginning (July 2013), even offering to do all the paperwork with Landmarks to obtain the permit to replace the windows. He was so confident that we would be quickly approved that he even stated, in writing, that the deposit is refundable in the event of permit denial. He gave us updates and assured us of his high standards to let us know that he was dissatisfied with the quality of the windows and had to re-order them, but after weeks of excuses, we followed up with Landmarks, who had no records of his application. After confronting him about this, he sent us emails of his frustrations with LPC (even though he mailed the application in, not hand-delivering as they requested) and then eventually stopped responding to us for updates. We have requested our refund back numerous times and we have not heard back from him since November 2013\. His landline and cell phone are now disconnected.

ive used Vila and they were terrible! Had a bunch of wwindows that didnt open , wouldnt stay open, or were hard to open/shut. The guy that came over was a total slob. He literally stood on my newly painted window sills to do the work. Didnt bring in a ladder and then left handprints all over the walls. A total pig. Then he stopped in the middle to have a 45 minute phone conversation on my stoop while i waited for him to finish. I can now say that 3 of the 6 windows he fixed last year are now back to their old unworking self again. Avoid!
