replacing kitchen tiles

the floors of our kitchen settled and now all grout a few tiles are cracked. i don’t think the floor is going to settle anymore so i want to replace the floor tiles. the only problem is that there are cabinets on the bad tiles. the cabinets are staying in place so the old tiles have to be cut/chiseled out up to the cabinet. i’m hoping some one had to do something similar and can recommend a good tile master with nice finishing skills for such a job. i will pay a premium for neat tile replacement job.

I am not aware of contractor but My suggestion is try to reinstall all new tiles. Now a days there are lot of fancy variety is available. It will give you best effect. try to call Cabinet removal contractor. and change all flooring.

Getting to the bottom of this… You suggest that the floor is not going to settle anymore but this may be a shaky premise to move ahead and spend a bunch of money? If the floor is not supported well, than could the “movement” of the floor be whats causing the cracking? rh makes some good suggestions, greenmountain loves tile work and photos on his website confirms this, and unlike metahome, I would only be confident that I could help you with this only after having a good look at the situation. It never helps me when a tech support rep says “I am sorry you are frustrated.” So I won’t say that here. As a craftsman who loves tile, and has lots of work, I am not attracted by your premium offer. Dirt settles, not tile.

I don’t have a contractor to recommend but I just want to give you a suggestion. If you are taking up the entire floor and not just the cracked ones, do make sure that the subfloor is level and sturdy. It’s not good enough that it’s not going to settle anymore, it needs to be really solid or you’ll get cracking again. Secondly, if you’re willing to pay a premium to have the job done correctly, why not have the contractor remove the cabinets and run the same tile underneath that? Again, just a suggestion. It’s always important to start the job out the right way rather than have to correct it later.
