Partial glass enclosure for tub - thoughts?
Hi All, We are currently renovating our bathroom and our designer suggested a partial glass enclosure for our tub. I know the half glass enclosure will make our bathroom look fabulous but I have reservation regarding water splattering. Do you guys have any thoughts or experience having a partial glass enclosure? What are the pros and cons? I have done some research online and there are some positive and negative. I want to see if you guys have any thoughts on it before I commit to it. A couple of things regarding my bathroom: – We are installing a shower system with rain shower and handheld shower head. – Our bathroom is tiny, outside the tub, i believe is a 5 x 5. Thanks!

An easy maintenance, freestanding tub that can also give you a massage with thousands of bubbles. A tub with a built-in door is a great option for those interested in aging-in-place. [Bathtub Conversions Toronto](http://www.imperialbath.net/)

You mean a shower panel like this……. – http://imgur.com/kNJUJkX Its way better than a shower curtain. BTW we have some of the wall and floor tiles left over at 50% of the purchase price in case you are looking for something similar. my email address is on my personal website at http://www.collins.net.pr

Awesome this would definitely elevate the beauty of your interior.

if the wall splash area outside the tub is tile (and not drywall or plaster) then its your call. Personally i am messy and always hated them. But i also don’t like those bulky wall contraptions with the hand held wand and rain shoer, fwiw.

If by rain shower you mean that the showerhead will be in the middle of the tub, I do not see how a partial glass enclosure will do anything to control splatter of water.

+1 for am partial glass encloser – looks so much better than a curtain.

I think it would look great but you will still get water on the floor so if you are going to be OCD about that, get a regular sliding glass door setup. If you do have a custom piece made, make sure they don’t sell you the sealer finish on the inside. It’s far more difficult to keep clean.

Personally I do not like glass enclosures for bathtubs. It makes it very uncomfortable to take a bath and also cleaning in those corners is not very easy without taking a shower in the process. So if you think you will not actually be taking a bath, I would take it out and put in a standing shower. If you want to take baths then I would not put in any kind of glass (fixed) enclosure.
