Good place to look at and purchase kitchen cabinets?

We are starting to plan for a kitchen renovation, including all new cabinets. We know about Ikea, Lowe’s, and Home Depot, but are interested in what is the next level up in quality. Does anyone have recommendations for places to go and look at cabinets as opposed to just looking online? Thanks.

Henrybuilt are quite expensive, but quite nice. Rutt a little cheaper. Woodmode and Plain & Fancy are a step down. There used to be a Woodmode store in the D&D building, nut sure it is still there. A couple of kitchen places sell (and display) Plain & Fancy, including the one on 12th & Broadway

You could also try the German Kitchen Center on Van Brundt, across from Fairway. They have a few different lines with different styles and price points. And in Manhattan there’s Henrybuilt in Soho and further up there are a number of showrooms for European cabinets – Poliform and Poggenpohl are in the Madison Square Park area.

I just learned that ikea kitchens are made with Blum hardware, which is high quality. The cabinets might also be made by Blum, specially for ikea.

I used Barker cabinets, and they’re pretty awesome. Much better made than Ikea, and not too much more, and you can order custom sizes to 1/4 inch in any dimension. http://barkercabinets.com/
