custom painted ikea?

Hey all-
I’m reading a lot about designers having ikea cabinet doors (specifically the applad or tildaholm styles) custom painted. Have any of you done this? I can’t seem to find the right person to ask about doing it. A refinishing shop? A painter? Our contractor was baffled at the request.
I’ve also looked into Scherr’s doors with Ikea boxes but the price and wait time are a problem.
Any ideas? We closed two weeks ago and discovered a mess of bad, dangerous wiring plus inadequate plumbing in the kitchen that pushed our remodel up a year! It’s been a crazy two weeks.

Instead of painting the doors, you could have a cabinet maker do some custom fronts for you. It??s not that expensive and it can look great.
