The three card monte administration

As someone who is self employed and a partner in two small businesses in nyc, I found it interesting that Unions want exemptions from the $15 an hour wage hike. It will no doubt have an impact on the cost of goods and services. It will probably drive some small businesses out. I “shared” information on this forum under the “govenment” topic heading. Is this heading for some other specific use? Regardless who reports the information, the person needs to consider if it is true. As someone who’s first response is to discredit, have you ever run a business? Are you affiliated with a Union? When special interest groups scream for change and then demand an exemption from that change, it should be of major concern for everyone. Except those affiliated with those special groups or their elected officials.

You link to a commentary by the right wing Manhattan Institute, which itself doesn’t really provide a source for assertions that Unions seek to exempt themselves from minimum wage laws, or that if they do it results in employees earning less than the minimum wage. Not sure how this fits into a forum for homeowners etc sharing information, but hey, electrons are free, I guess.
