GC recommendations on a budget

Hi Brownstoners, I know this is a common question that comes up every so often.  I’ve looked at past answers but figured I’d submit my own because everyone is different. I recently closed on a 2bed 2 bath co-op apt in Prospect Heights.  Looking for a general contractor (licensed/insured) to do a few projects before we move in.  Namely: adding a door frame/door to a bathroom, knocking out some cabinets and a wall to convert pass-through kitchen into open kitchen, adding baseboard mouldings and door casings throughout, W/D installation in a closet that abuts the shower (this is allowed in the building), replacing vanity in bathroom, electrical work here and there, painting throughout.  We are on a tight budget and not sure if we can do all of this (in which case W/D installation will have to wait a year or two).  Like everyone, looking for a contractor who can do work on a tighter budget without sacrificing quality.  We’ve done a few walkthroughs and the one we liked is a little too pricey and the one we can afford seemed unknowledgable. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated, thanks!
